Hi everybody, I wanted to share this artwork with you. This is an avatar I adopted for myself for about 9 years by now ... the original illustration is not mine, for those who have played Fallout 2 may recognize the character. ;)

And now I´m doing a new version of it but with cooler look. I´m still working on it, but I want to share it with you and hear some oppinions on how do you see it and get some advice.

This is my 9 year old avatar (Photoshop):

Yeap ... sound pretty much like that! :D

Well my name is "Tommy", and that's the nexus that ties me to the nickname and to the so called "Tommy gun" the character is actually holding very pround in his hands ... ;)

First of all i really like the newer version already, really cool!

Second, how did you do right one with all the lines? i see it more often but i wander, did you make them all by hand, or did you use a tool for that?

Deavas:

This kind of illustrating is called "gradient meshing". Its baed on the gradient mesh tool in Illustrator, with it you can do realistic looking gradient shapes and manipulateit as you like. Just google for this and you will find lots of cool stuff done with this tool, really photorealistic drawings ... (and not crap like mine!) hahaha :D

You should add smoke coming out of the gun, just like he had fired it.

Had really never thought about that... hehe, thanks!

Maybe its more a kind of friendly gangsta' :D ... he would never have to shoot anybody ... (would he?) xD
