http://www.designcontest.com has a new layout. Finally we will not have to deal with all the complains about the alien head ;) Please, voice your opinion about the new design.

We also need help in revising some information
1. about the website
2. disclaimer
3. how to start a contest

The visual aspect of it looks good, but grammatically it needs a lot of work. Each section of text has several errors and so the page looks somewhat amateurish.

Also, as a side note, the slogan does not really make sense: "The way to design"...

The new font looks too small at high resolution setting. Old one is much easier to read.

resurepus -
I've edited some of the text in the start page, which is shown below. Would like to get some feedback from the team members as to its content :)

ABOUT DC
Welcome to DesignContest.net! DC is an up and coming Graphic Design and Webmaster community, in which individuals can create contests for designers to offer their original work as submissions. Guaranteed Contests are open only to those designers that have been prescreened for their design abilities, and have been made a member of the DC Design Team. The non-profit section of the forums is available to both team members and non-team members.

This model allows the contest holder the peace of mind that only qualified individuals will be participating in their contest. The contest holder will be able to choose from a series of professional, unique designs, created by different designers with individual styles. This model also affords designers the opportunity to gain new clients, earn money, and add to their portfolios.

Furthermore, these design contests provide to both parties an amount of security. The open forum design affords contest holders the opportunity to preview what they're paying for, selecting the design that best fits their prerequisites, and choosing the designer that best fits their needs and style. In addition, the contest holders deposit the prize money in advance, thus offering more security to the designers that all of the effort that they put forth in the contest will be rewarded to the top designer in the end.

Further details on how to start or participate in the contest can be found within the forums.

One thing I would suggest cause this is bothering me. Put a dropshadow underneath the whole main section to pop that bad boy off the stinkin' background. Or at least something to border it.
