LA Clippers redesign

OK, In case you havent noticed, I enjoy designing sports logos:)

A couple people at another board were saying the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA need an identity update. Here is what I designed. Hoping for some comments to improve it.

I really don't like it for a sports team. The image is nice, but just feel it's not hitting the pro sports look all that much. also not crazy about the fill used in the Word Clippers but can defenatly see what you were going for.

A clipper ship sits deep in the water (or looks that way) with less above it except for the sails.
If your set on using a ship, try making it look sleek and fast w/ the sails exagerated somewhat that would show less sail but look like more (if that made any sense lol).

for those that aren't familiar w/ the LA Clippers logo. and their uniforms look straight out of 1950. So I do think they could use a rebranding. haha

Hi chickenfish13,

I met this man when he redesigned the State University of West Georgia logo.

His business is Rickabaugh Graphics. He does a lot of professional and college logo design. Take a look at his site to get some ideas for a pro logo concept.

Although, I think your design does have a lot of appeal to for a little league team. The ship mark is cartoony mixed with a not so cartoonish lettermark.
