I would very much appreciate any comments and constructive critisism. Thanks in advance!
the flash file itself can be found here:

But, I think you're totally off to a fantastic start!!!
Edit... What's going to go in the picture frame to the right of the fire place?

I think it's a great work so far. The only real change I would suggest by peeking is you may want to add more logs, and make the flames a little more "roaring". That fire doesn't look very warm.

Thank you!
well, it actually was requested by the client that there is only one log in the fire.
as for the picture, not sure yet, probably some kind of modern style art... Not sure if I am ready to draw Mona Lisa there

batmantheking, I have to agree with you, there isn't much functionality in this header, it is used rather for decoration. It is just Russian version of the website contains a lot of text matherials and they are managed by joomla. But the next step will be making an English version of the same website which will have much less text and will be completely in Flash. There you will see more functionality for sure

Reflecting the light from the fireplace in the face of the man would be a nice detail and another thing that might give it all a better look is dampening the light in the rest of the room making it more _cosy_ so to speak. Adding some reflection in the windows can uppen the flash even more.
Btw very nice work!
