I rather the previous logo. Although it's cleaner, also is too static and dull.

I like the simplicity of it, every company should never resist to change or they won't succed, I think the new logo goes along with their new designs and style for Windows 8

I don't like it at all !!! back to 2D ok but it's not clever, not smart ...
besides lots of printing company uses four color for their logo now, so not even original ...

I understand that in a lot of cases simple is better, but I think they kinda dropped the ball here. Not a lot of creativity involved with this... But it does get its point across and convey "Microsoft" when you see it. Effective, but not great.

In my opinion, it's very hard and maybe we can say "ungrateful" to recreate logo for world corporation giant such is Microsoft- (especial Microsoft). Reason is that you must stay very connected with old one recognizable logo but on other side you have
not much space to make some changes. This example is also unique because of logo's connection with operation system Windows ,which is most present product of the corporation.Windows determinate recognizability of the brand , and you can not go out from that concept.
So, the result of all this restriction is one "pale" not enough creative logo.
