To attach a PDF to a Joomla site do the following:
.Download a PDF icon or a button to use for your downloading link. Choose a small icon so that it displays in the same size.
.From your Joomla admin dashboard, go to Content->Media Manager->Options.
.Make sure PDF is in the accepted file formats list. If it isn’t, type "pdf" into the box, and click Save.
.Go to Browse File and choose the PDF icon, and click Upload. Note down your upload path.
.Go to Create New Folder and name the folder.
.Upload the PDF to the new folder you just created. Note down the file path.
.Go to Content->Article Manager->New. Type in the title and text. Place the cursor on where you want the download, and click the Image button.
.Paste the PDF path to your PDF icon. Click in Insert.
.Select "HTML" to view the HTML source.
.Wrap the image tag in the code with a link tag, and ink it to the PDF doc you uploaded.
<a href="http://yourdom.com/files/pdf1.pdf"><img src="http://yourdom.com/images/image1.jpg" border="0" /></a>
.Save and close
