Project description
Starbucks recently unveils a new logo - Could you do it better? Community Contest.
To celebrate 40 years of success, Starbucks Coffee last week announced it’s newest logo redesign. The iconic coffee chain’s infamous logo has been modified, the company name removed, and the Starbucks Siren enlarged onto a vibrant green background.
Mike P., senior creative manager for Starbucks said of the redesign, “After hundreds of explorations, we found the answer in simplicity. Removing the words from the mark, bringing in the green, and taking the Siren out of her ring. For forty years she’s represented coffee, and now she is the star.” (http://www.starbucks.com/blog/bringing-the-siren-to-life) But, some designers are curious – does the Siren alone represent Starbucks in the same way that the Golden Arches represent McDonalds?
Do you think Starbucks made the right decisions in their logo redesign?
Do you think you could have done it better?
Well, here’s your chance! Improve the Starbucks logo and win $300, $150, or $75!
At the contest end, the DesignContest.com community of designers will vote on all entries and winners will be announced - First Place will win $300, Second Place will win $150 and Third Place will win $75.
