HOW AND WHEN DOES YOUR WORKING DAY BEGIN?

I usually start my work at 10 AM. First of all, I am checking all my mails and reply. Then I start my design work. Nothing special, catching inspiration, communicating with clients, drinking tea or coffee. Nothing unusual or extraordinary.

HOW DOES YOUR WORKPLACE LOOK LIKE?

My workplace is very simple. When you adore simplicity in designing, you are starting to organize some other parts of your life in the same manner. And vice versa, your workplace affects your work and its final result.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING AS A DESIGNER?

I have been working as a designer for 7 years. WOW! I have never thought about it! That’s pretty long! (smiling)

WHY HAVE YOU DECIDED TO BE A DESIGNER?

I liked drawing from my childhood. It’s in my heart, actually. I used to study mechanics (laughing) but finally I have chosen to be a designer, as I love to design. Such a funny twist of fate.

WHAT IS YOUR DESIGN SPECIALIZATION?

I love to design websites and graphic designs, sometimes mobile app designs. But I will be happy if I make fresh concept design, something new and original for me. I guess, illustrations and infographics could be interesting.

DO YOU HAVE SOME WEBSITES WHICH DESIGN YOU ADORE? I MEAN THOSE DESIGNED NOT BY YOU

I like simplicity. And recent trends are showing us that simple design is the future. I like Mosne and Pinterest websites design.

WERE THERE SOME DIFFICULTIES IN GETTING THE JOB OR PROJECT?

Sometimes. Some projects were hard to start because of rather long negotiation period.
Each client is good. It is very important to feel positive, hold positive communication with the client and satisfy his expectations. Each client will have his own ideas/expectations. We have to get it from him. Sometimes it can be difficult. (smiling)

WHAT TOOLS AND PROGRAMS DO YOU USE?

Photoshop and Illustrator. I guess these programs are the most suitable and convenient for me.

REMEMBER YOUR FIRST JOB OR PROJECT? WHAT WAS THE FEELING?

Yes, I can remember my first work, I have started my career as an illustrator, I was illustrating the model of some engine. I still remember I was little nervous but I made it and the result was good. That day I got lot of confidence. I guess each first job can either scare you or encourage you. What we get in the end depends on our own thoughts, hardworking and optimism.

MANY GRAPHIC DESIGNERS HAVE NO SPECIAL EDUCATION CONCERNING DESIGN. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT SELF-EDUCATION?

Maybe we can start with self-education. For those who have no opportunity to study, self-education can be a way out.  I think we need to have a professional guide to build our skills. To be a good designer first of all we must love designing and art, we have to design with our heart, only then we can bring the best output.

DO YOU TRACK MODERN DESIGN TRENDS TO BE UP-TO-DATE?

Yes, and I think it is obligatory for each professional designer. If we want to be good designers, we have to be up-to-date. It is obvious. I love to know new updates and trends about designing. It would be unpleasant for me if someone calls my design old-fashioned.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH HARD CLIENTS? AND THOSE WHO WANT SOMETHING OLD-FASHIONED?

There are no hard clients (smiling). I agree sometimes it may be little hard to know our clients expectations. Once we get their expectations, we can satisfy them easily. As for old-fashioned preferences so I guess, there is no other way but to hit such clients with the highest level of quality. Quality is the only language that could be understood all over the world. If you provide the clients with really professional, clean and attractive design, they will accept trends. So my success formula is quite simple: patience, arguments and quality.

WHICH ON-LINE SOURCES, WEBSITES DO  YOU READ?

It is Adobe website for latest technological updates. I guess, I am living on this site

WHAT ARE YOUR INSPIRATION SOURCES?

I have 2 sources I visit more often than others. They are Awards website for great new design updates and CSSwinner for many good designs.

DO YOU HAVE A STRONG DREAM CONCERNING YOUR DESIGN ACTIVITY?

As I am a Web & Graphic designer, I want to make a design for sensational website like Facebook or Twitter where more than 90% visitors will give wow effect (laughing)

YOUR FIRST WIN ON DESIGNCONTEST WEBSITE… HOW DID YOU FEEL?

My first winning contest here was HpNetwork. That is a great feeling! I am not even able to compare it with anything else. I still remember my unlimited happiness. Will never forget that moment.

WHAT WOULD YOU ADVISE TO OUR DC NEWBIES?

Never give up! This is my mantra. Customers are expecting a good portfolio and professional approach. Try! Try hard! Once you come up with good idea and the client accepts it as a possible winner, do your best to become a winner. That’s a hard balance.
