and to answer your question - no of course it is not allowed. for the contest to be fair and transparent all the communications between the contest holder and the designers should be held inside the contest.

contact outside of designcontest is not allowed, no matter who or what party initiated it first. We can't protect your rights when the conversation goes out of the contest. If the ch comes back and say you didn't complete the deal before prize is sent , we have no way of proving this fact that you did indeed complete the project, so ALL contact is to be in the comment area so we have a log of the conversation to prove you did complete the job.

We also have this in place in case a designer does drop the ball on the project, so we protect both you and the contest holder with this rule
