How much time is given to CH after contest closed

Just wanted to know, how much time is given to CH to choose a winner after the contest close date?

Sorry we missed your post.

We like contest holders to either choose a winner or extend the contest within a week of going expired. This sometimes takes longer for some clients. In some cases the client has to take the contest results to committees and board meetings. If the contest goes 4 weeks with reply back from the client, then the contest is considered abandoned on 5th week. Prize money is then split with highest rated designers in that contest. Each designer to receive $45.00, Prize amount determines how many designers the prize is split with. If no rated designs in the contest then the prize money goes toward a community contest sponsored by designcontest.com where there are 3 paid winners.
