    Some questions...

    ok...so I only have a few question:

-I understand the requirements needed to become a member...but I don't get the part where people post their finished logoes on a layout like this one over here...just an example:

    http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?i...go1ard5ha6.jpg

do i need to post like that?
and whats with the colored squares on the right side?
    what does PMS stand for?
in the print design forum it says theres 23 threads yet I can only see one??? is that because im not a member ?
    same with the charity forum...

Hi Mik3y, that layout is required for guaranteed contests, which you won't need until you become a design team member. They will provide you with a link to download the template once you are approved. The squares on the side are for a flat color and black and white version of the logo. I am not exactly sure what the acronym PMS stands for, but they are the color numbers used in print.

The forums you are having problems with only have a few threads. The other contests that were held there have been moved to the "Finished Contests" forum.

    I hope that helps.

tnx man that cleared things out for me...

I know I can't participate in the "real" contests yet but if I have a logo can I just post it anyway for the fun of it and maybe add it to my portofolio?

    would i get banned ?

    oh and one more question

considering the logoes have to be vector formats...

photoshop can be saved as Photoshop EPS so I'm guessing photoshop can be used too?

I'm just curious...I can use Illustrator, too but photoshop is better organized and faster to work with...

    tnx!!!

    mik3y

p.s. sry for the abundance of questions out of nowhere...what do you mean by illustrations?
just the layout made in illustrator/photoshop/wE or the whole website designed in dreamweaver/by hand/?

hi mikey. I think that Photoshop EPS would still depend on the resolution of the actual file. So vector art( from Illustrator or even freehand) is still much better. Whatever size requirement it will be, it won't pixelate and retain its crispness. Freehand is a lot easier for me, easy to handle and its not that heavy to operate. Just a few suggestions, hoped it help you. Have a nice day.

You can create the designs if you wish, but you may not post them on the forums or display them in your portfolio. If you want to post the design publicly, I would recommend waiting until the contest is finished AND changing the company name.

Now that you know it's not allowed; most likely yes.
