Attention: Gmail users, Seen this? http://www.softpedia.com/get/Interne...xtension.shtml
with the prices for storage media going continiously down, I don't see that much use in this program, especially considering that using gmail as your hard disk drive wouldn't be very fast.

The only remote storage I trust is my web server, a close friend owns it, and I get it for free. I dont see the big deal with gmail, I have an account and have yet to be impressed by it.

The reason I like Gmail is the interface. It's obivous they've put alot of work into it, and it works really well. I don't really think the storage aspect plays that big a part. Sure, its great to have all that space, but I wouldn't want to store anything on it, and theres no chance I'll fill it with emails.
The use of Gmail Extension Drive is not for you to store files and search for it, edit and re-save there again. I find it as an easy tool attaching documents to someone i would like to send email w/ that file. Once you put your file there, it will automatically sent to your gmail inbox and is ready for you to forward/send to anyone. Not taking much time and not taking any computer memory as it's functioning online. Everyone has a freedom to choose/use it or not to use it. Kung Hei Fat Choi![]()
It's good to have a gmail account... just email stuff to yourself for backups of backups... hriders.com has a 1tb email account that's good for that too.
