I have seen some amazing effects to look like metal and want to know if anyone has a good resource for simple tips on using gradient and transparency effects to get this look easily.

wow I will have to spend some time with those links. Thanks
Often we have to adjust these for the print techniques I use in my corporate gift business, for engraving, etching and embroidery (and similar). But there are more and more new print technologies that allow for the special effects so I am just now learning about how to use them effectively.
using some of these methods for embroidery will be almost impossible. I designed two versions of a logo one w/ solid colors and no effects for embrodery purposes.
Some print shops cant print the transparencies as they become solid colors so it all depends on your set up. I suggest testing it out before making any orders with overlays.
good luck.

I'm agree with Coy. Some conventional print can't applied your logo if you use gradient/tranparancies. I suggest you to use solid color or maybe ruster effect for embriodery, that absolutely 100% working![]()
