Inkscape and compatability

Ink scape I don't know if any of you guys use this program for vector drawing it is simple enough to use but is not compatible to Illustrator. Please reply and Tell me if you have used Inkscape and If you have found tips or tricks for it.

if you can save as eps or svg or even pdf then you can open it in illustrator

Yes you Van But they are fuzzy and not a really good format. Inkscape is tough to figure out. espeacially what and what does not work in illustrator. Good thing i got illustrator.

Mostly dont add blur or any special filters and would work in illustrator. Same goes for illustrator never use the special blur and filters. Mainly most compatible info are the vectors, mask and gradients. Rest that are extra would not be compatible.

Hi, I use inkscape, no pro at it but its just a powerfull as illustrator. what are the issues you seem to be having??? you can look at my profile which are all inkscape designs and some pictures do blur only due to upload issues rather than the program itself.

Inkscape is in no way compatible with illustrator. it does not even support cmyk as i said before. yeah its easy to use and you can do vector graphics personally i like the spiro tool. but it still sucks.

it has many bugs. There are no upload issue just graphic bugs in the software. it does not draw shapes as accurately as illustrator

yes well i cannot comment on that as ive only got limited resources like inkscape, but its a working process so you have to make do wid what you got

I agree with wig1989, it's a working process, the tools itself is, and we as a user either. I'm also using inkscape, but I don't want to judge which one is better, because a tools is better with its own master, on a suitable purpose.
And btw, I think inkscape that I'm using has CMYK support, maybe the version is different. There's even a plugin to make CMYK separation.

Hi Chrissi, I am using Inkscape 0.47 r22583, and the CMYK support I think it's already with the package (if what you mean is the CMYK tab when editing the color). Which version are you using?
While the CMYK separator I downloaded from somewhere I don't remember, but you can try googling 'inkscape plugin cmyk separator'.
After downloaded and moved the file into the right folder, the option for CMYK separator will show up in the > Extensions > Color. It will separate the file into 4 files, each for C, M, Y, and K. Useful for printing in color separations.
