I use to work with vector most of the times, I really enjoy illustrate with vector but really is a work that need of lots of patience and careful. when you work with such amount of lines and path you must be raelly carefull about the match and position of the shape. I think you need a deeper understanding of the software and its tools.

Its really amazing if this is vector. It takes me more time to make vector images then bitmap images. But you get a nice style with vector.
