    New Website in Progress

    http://www.thinkpatience.com/
    - This is what I have up already, it's just a web splash that will redirect you to my DeviantART profile.

The purpose of the site is an online portfolio, much similar to DeviantART, but a little more personalized so I can show off my Photography, Illustrations, Graphic Designs, and Paintings.

Here is what I was thinking, just a "rough sketch", I think my main concern at the moment is deciding whether I want to do it in Flash or Javascript/CSS.

Any feedback would be awesome, thanks.

Hi. I had to URL the image since it was way too huge for the forum layout. Please try to make sure that your images don't stretch the page.

I think the site looks pretty cool overall. I like the idea with the sketches.

One crit I have is about your use of blank space. If there's one thing I've noticed about spacing over the years it's that (for most situations) you either want to respect the blank space and give every object enough room to breathe, or you want to lock things together with no room in between. Currently, a lot of your text and graphics elements are simply squished together. The fact that the elements are so close to their borders and to other elements also highlights the fact that they aren't evenly placed in some areas. It's the same as trying to cover a white spot on a wall with a picture, you either want the spot to be seen fully (and make sure that it looks like a part of the design :P) or you don't want it to be seen at all; if it's peeking out only slightly then people will know that it's a botched job to cover the spot.

As for the scripting, why not use both? Those two pretty much go hand-in-hand.

I love the unusual color scheme, and the layering of the images is fantastic. The only thing that bothered me at all: the bars with the double lines that vary in width I'm not so sure about. They read almost as art deco styling, which may not be right for the drawing style--and they distracted me a bit. Maybe just a consistent width?

I think the really dark graphic on the top left is a little too obscure but other than that I like the juxtaposition of your and windows and graphics.

nice design, but i'm woundering how you gunna fit the data in the design, i'm with _Redrum, about your use of blank space.
what i feels from your design is the dark box under works in progress is sit to be a viewer? thats what i felt when i saw the position of that man looking at the designs of your work..
also the women laying down, i think it would be better if you make it more smaller.
i think it will be more controlled if you launch it in flash.
