I've made this logo as a preliminary design for a (according to the client) "multi sport site that covers contests and local events in the Gulf Coast area and inland a little ways."

Since I haven't seen the website or even been told any description of it yet, it's just a fairly simple and basic design, which will either be going through major revisions or be discarded completely.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Not bad for a concept but my first question is about the significance of the three circles to the left.

They seem a bit removed from the rest of the design. Maybe they could be integrated into text of the logo somehow?

I'm also not convinced that the separation of "Sports" by putting it in the box is completely necessary. It makes me think of it as a button of sorts.

Have you tried any other fonts with this? I would be interested in seeing a few more examples.
Honey, I got rhythm that I haven't used yet.

leave out the stroke or outline or make it much thicker. Yellow bubble color is bit odd.
The box below is bit too much. I think you also need to look at other things and not directly at water bubbles. You should look at sun or sand of a beach / coast. Typeface could be more sporty look at Eurostile Black or Enterman sans which are good sporty fonts.

The font you are using is bit like comic sans which is not really sporty or professional.

I am not a fan of the fonts, also, the strok might look better bigger to give a web 2.0ish feel

What this bubbles means? The image looks too much like lather... (IMHO)
So... good idea but it is not concerning with sport i think.

Hi, i see 3 elemnts: (bubbles, name, and generic description) maybe all three are fighting to getting the main attention, there are too many graphics elements.
The main communication idea isn't expressed, i get the primry elemnt of sports is a ball and may be with the different sizes of balls youre supporting the multi sport concept, the problem is as a group could give a wrong idea, try to focus on one elemnt and make it strong over the rest of elements of your composition, hope it helps.

I agree with all the comments. Maybe you should make it more one logo, now there are only some separate elements. It's not clear enough to understand the meaning of the logo. And I think you can use a dark blue and yellow colour for it.

first impression... The 3 cirlces - thought it was for beverage or something.

same concern with the font (not sporty enough)

You could try browsing to ESPN or any other sport sites to get some references of multi sports.

Good Luck and Keep Designing!

Logo is a little simple and bland. Not horrible and sometimes simple is good...but these set of concepts just aren't doing it for me. Keep practicing! :)

You can use a better font to illustrate the concept.

I agree with all the opinions and especially with 3masd.
It is like the different elements are fighting for attention and none of them implies that it has anything to do with sports. Except, of course, for the word "sports" that actually doesn't stand out well on the yellow when it is white.

Just my 2 cents.
